NEW YORK (AP) – Beyonce’ did not blow out the lights at the Super Bowl. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says the halftime show is not to blame for the power failure to the Superdome in the second half of the Super Bowl.

Doug Thornton of SMG, the company that manages the Superdome, says Beyonce’s show was running on its own generator. He says metered power consumption went down during halftime because the house lights were off.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Beyonce’s Super Bowl halftime performance included thigh-high leather boots, pyrotechnics, rolling around on the floor — and the reunion everyone knew was coming. Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland popped out of the stage midway through Beyonce’s show for a Destiny’s Child reunion.

They sang “Bootylicious,” ”Independent Women” and “Single Ladies” before letting Beyonce’ finish with “Halo.” Beyonce’ also sang abbreviated versions of “Love On Top,” ”Crazy In Love,” and “End of Time.”

Before the game, Jennifer Hudson performed “America The Beautiful” with students at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Alicia Keys did a subdued version of the national anthem, accompanying herself on piano. Keys took some artistic license at the end: she added “living in the home” before belting “home of the brave.”

THE GRAMMYS WILL RUN SPECIAL ON WHITNEY HOUSTON’S DEATH

GrammysLOS ANGELES (AP) — When Whitney Houston died right before the Grammys last year, the Recording Academy had to scramble.

The story of how they pulled it off will be the subject of a one-hour special called “The Grammys Will Go On: A Death In The Family.” It will feature interviews with Dave Grohl, Jennifer Hudson, LL Cool J, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift and Joe Walsh.

It runs on CBS February 9, the day before the Grammys.

KELLY CLARKSON TOPS LIST OF “AMERICAN IDOLS”

Kelly ClarksonNEW YORK (AP) — Kelly Clarkson still is the top dog with “American Idol,” at least in terms of money earned. Forbes magazine reports Clarkson is the top-earning “Idol” contestant, earning $8 million last year.

Carrie Underwood and Chris Daughtry are tied for second, each making $5 million last year. Scotty McCreery is third, with $4 million, edging out Jennifer Hudson, who pulled in $3 million, and Jordin Sparks with $2 million.

The next top-earners made more than the “Idol” winners that year: Adam Lambert, Katharine McPhee, Kellie Pickler and David Archuleta. David Cook checks in at tenth place.

BEYONCE’ SAYS SHE WON’T LIP-SYNCH SUPER BOWL HALFTIME SHOW

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The two big questions for Beyonce’ as she faced the press in advance of her Super Bowl performance: did she lip-synch at the presidential inauguration, and is Destiny’s Child going to show up? Beyonce admits she did sing the national anthem to a recorded track at the inauguration.

She says she didn’t have time to rehearse with the orchestra and she wanted to make President Barack Obama and the country proud of her. She promises she will sing live at the halftime show on Sunday.

Beyonce’ even poked fun at reporters by opening the news conference by singing the anthem a cappella, then saying, “Any questions?” And when asked if she’ll have any collaborators on Sunday, Beyonce’ coyly said she can’t give any details.

NICKI MINAJ NOT WORRIED ABOUT GRAMMY SNUB

B947_Nickie MinajNEW YORK (AP) — Nicki Minaj hardly is hurt about not being nominated for a Grammy this year. She got three nominations last year but was shut out this time around.

Minaj says she’s gotten tons of awards and when it’s time, she’ll get a Grammy. She says she thinks the Recording Academy had a reason for not nominating her and that’s just between her and it, but respects the Grammys and knows her time will come.

KESHA PLANS REALITY SHOW

KeshaNEW YORK (AP) — Kesha let her brother film everything she did for the past two years and now is letting him put it on TV. “Kesha: My Crazy Beautiful Life” will run as a series on MTV beginning in April.

Her brother, Lagan Sebert, had been working as a journalist and realized the most amazing story was happening in his own family. Kesha says the show will reveal a complete picture of what her life is really like and she adds it’s “not all glamorous, but it’s all real.”

RIHANNA IS DATING CHRIS BROWN AGAIN

NEW YORK (AP) — b947 _ Rihanna says it was more important for her to be happy than to worry about her public image. That’s why she’s back with Chris Brown.

Rihanna tells Rolling Stone, “Even if it’s a mistake, it’s MY mistake.” She admits it’s “not the cutest puzzle in the world,” but their relationship is different now because they don’t argue like they once did.

Rihanna says Brown doesn’t have the luxury of messing up again, and if he does, she will walk. Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting Rihanna just before the 2009 Grammys.

DETROIT (AP) – Singer Nate Ruess (ROOS) of fun. has been studying Coldplay and U2 to figure out how they put their set lists together. Ruess says he spent his monthlong vacation figuring out which new songs to play. He says he got heavy into Coldplay and U2 and how they choose songs and do light shows. Ruess says his favorite thing about success is that fun. can play bigger venues and use bigger production. He says they now employ Coldplay’s lighting director.

MORE GRAMMY PERFORMERS ANNOUNCED

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (AP) – Jack White, Carrie Underwood and The Lumineers have been added as performers on the Grammys. Dierks  Bentley and Miranda Lambert will do a performance together. So will Elton John and Ed Sheeran. Previously announced performers include fun., The Black Keys, Mumford and Sons, Rihanna and Taylor Swift. The Grammys are February 10.
