LOS ANGELES (AP) – Authorities in Los Angeles County are on Justin Bieber’s case – over his driving. Sheriff’s detectives have launched a reckless driving probe against Bieber after witnesses complained he sped through a residential area last night. Witnesses – including former NFL star Keyshawn Johnson – claim The Beeb was driving at freeway speeds in a 25 mile-per-hour zone. Johnson says he and his 3-year-old daughter were getting ready to hop in their Prius when Bieber zoomed by. Johnson got upset and drove to the singer’s home to confront him. But authorities say Bieber ran inside without speaking. When sheriff’s deputies went to The Beeb’s home, his security detail said he refused to speak, “based on advice of counsel.”

Prosecutors are also looking at whether to charge Bieber for battery in a separate incident involving a neighbor. The neighbor complains the pop star attacked and threatened him.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – Paul McCartney has made a pilgrimage to Graceland. He made his first visit to the home of Elvis Presley – and left a personal guitar pick on Presley’s grave. McCartney has long been a fan of Presley – but didn’t stop at Graceland until Sunday. He is in Memphis to play a gig as part of his “Out There” tour.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – “Fast and the Furious 6” helped make it the best Memorial Day Hollywood has ever seen. About $316 million dollars’ worth of tickets were sold over the four day weekend. Fast and the Furious 6 accounted for nearly a third of that. In contrast, “Hangover 3” premiered in second with just $51 million, much less than predicted. Last week’s number-one, “Star Trek Into Darkness” was in third, with $47 million. “Epic” did much better than expected, coming in fourth with $43 million. “Iron Man 3” is in fifth with $24 million.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Usher must be looking down at members of Team Blake. Last night on “The Voice” Usher commented on the fancy, sparkling cowboy boots worn by two of Blake Shelton’s team members. Usher told Danielle Bradbery her red boots were performing on their own. Usher did some accessorizing of his own. He put on a dark-rimmed pair of glasses in support of his team member, Michelle Chamuel. Host Carson Daly started calling Usher — Urkel. Tonight, two acts will be eliminated, leaving the top six. Half could be members of Team Blake, which has three remaining acts.

NEW YORK (AP) – The star of “The Bachelorette?” in 2004 nearly drank herself to death. Meredith Phillips tells People magazine says she used to drink more than 20 bottles of wine a week and would black out every day. She says she finally realized she was killing herself. So she got help and says she’s been sober more than 150 days now.

WASHINGTON (AP) – “American Idol” winner Candice Glover likes her audiences big. Glover says if there are a couple of hundred people in the audience, she can see faces and that makes her nervous. Glover says with a crowd of 300,000, she can’t pick out anybody. She didn’t show any nerves when she sang the national anthem at the national Memorial Day concert in Washington over the weekend, because it was a big crowd. Glover also had no problem singing the anthem, even though it’s a notoriously hard song to sing. Glover used to sing it every week for two years for U.S. Marine graduates at a restaurant in her hometown.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – All hangovers come to an end eventually, and so, too, “The Hangover” franchise. “Hangover 3” is the final installment. Zach Galifiankis says the fact that this is the end will probably sink in when they’re through promoting the movie. He says “there will probably be some tears.” Or, he says, he could “fake some so it looks good for the press.” Hangover 3 opens today.

LONDON (AP) – The British Library is putting handwritten Beatles lyrics right out there with original copies of Shakespeare and the Magna Carta. The British Library says it has acquired John Lennon’s handwritten lyrics to “Strawberry Fields Forever,” “She Said She Said” and “In My Life.” They were donated by Beatles biographer Hunter Davies. The library already has some rare Beatles materials, including partial lyrics written on hotel stationery on tour.

MOORE, Oklahoma (AP) – Toby Keith says sure, there will be a benefit concert to help victims of the massive tornado in his hometown of Moore, Oklahoma. But he says the town where he grew up has more pressing concerns than a show. He says there are still funerals and memorials to attend, people in hospitals who need healing – and homes that need to be boarded up or rebuilt. Once those immediate needs are cared for, Keith says he and his musician friends will be on hand to try to raise money to help in the recovery effort. As a native son of Moore, Keith is feeling the tragedy – and it has affected members of his family. He says his sister’s home was damaged in the twister and some of his relatives are bunking together because of the storm.
