According to the City Of Rushville, on July 30th at around 11:45am a water main was struck by a company doing work in the area. Around 5pm that day the City reported that the water main was fixed and operating correctly.
Around 7:40pm the City advised residents not to drink the water as it was unsafe.

On July 31st at 9:45am the City of Rushville said that they were disinfecting and flushing the system. At this time it is ok to drink water if you bring the water to a boil for at least one minute. It is also safe to wash clothes and do dishes. The water may have a chlorine smell to it.
