North Panhandle 4-H’ers Compete at Regional Speech Contest

nebraska-4-hThe 2015 Regional 4-H Public Speaking Contest was held last Saturday, April 25, at three different sites throughout the Panhandle.   Those competing from our area and their placings were as follows:

In the Public Speaking, Junior Division, Skylar Edmund of Sioux County was a medal winner and received a purple ribbon.  Curtis Rittgarn of Sheridan County also received a purple.  For Intermediates, Aspen and India Rittgarn of Sheridan County received blues, Emily Parker and Morgan Edmund of Sioux County received purples, and Katelyn Diehl of Dawes County also received a purple.  In the Senior Division, Jake Lemmon of Dawes County received a purple and was a state qualifier.

In the Public Service Announcement competition all local youth were from Dawes County.  In the Intermediate Division, Dylan Davidson was a medal winner and received a purple ribbon.  Katelyn Diehl also was awarded a purple.  In the Senior Division, Wyatt Davidson and Jake Lemmon each received a purple and were chosen as state qualifiers.  Chance Snook was also awarded a purple ribbon.

Senior Division winners who were chosen as state qualifiers will represent the Panhandle District at the Nebraska State Fair to be held in Grand Island, August 28 through September 7.
