A pair of newlyweds who just couldn’t control their lovemaking will be spending 30 days in the Scotts Bluff County Jail.

31-year-old Miaya Davis-Smith Ramirez and 23-year-old Saint Robert Ramirez Jr were sentenced Wednesday for indecent exposure after having sex in Gering’s Oregon Trail Park.

The couple was arrested Tuesday evening after Gering police were dispatched to the park following a report from a group of teenagers that a couple was having sex..

The responding officer said 3 girls ages 15 and 16 pointed him to a large pine tree and said two people were having sex there.

The officer drove his cruiser to the tree and saw the Ramirezes having sex, saying that although he parked only about 3-feet away, they didn’t notice him until he “loudly” told them to stop and get dressed.

He said they laughed as they followed his instructions, saying they’d just gotten married…adding in court that they didn’t think they could be seen because of the tree…which is a short distance from the Gering swimming pool and about 20 yards from a playground where their daughter was with a friend.
