On this date back in 1962, “The Beverly Hillbillies” premiered on CBS.  The show ran for nine seasons and spawned two spinoffs–“Petticoat Junction” and “Green Acres”.
September 26th also happens to be the birthday of Donna Douglas, who played Jed’s daughter (and friend to all critters) Elly May.
