GILBERT RENTERIA, 82

Gilbert Renteria, 82, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Hemingford Community Care Center.

He was born on June 9, 1930 in Alexandria, LA to Francisco and Angela (Arizola) Renteria.  He grew up at Laredo, TX until his family moved to western Nebraska in his youth.  He worked in various construction jobs and on area farms in the Alliance and Scottsbluff area.  He has recently lived in Bayard until moving to the care center in Hemingford in 2011.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; his children from his first marriage, Connie Jo (Lorenzo) Dillon of Eagle Butte, SD, Isaac Frank (Sharon) Renteria of Mission, SD, Lori (Leo) Driving Hawk of Mesa, AZ and Carmen Renteria (Todd Fast Horse) of Mission, SD.  He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Manuel Renteria  and Eva Hernandez of Alliance, Joe Renteria of MO, Acemcion Renteria of CA, Frank Renteria of IN; Jesse Renteria of Hill City, SD and Connie Goss of Denver, CO.  He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Gilbert Dean Renteria and his daughter, Delores “Lola” Marie Renteria.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 22 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bates-Gould Chapel with Rev. Don Mink officiating.  Cremation will follow the service with inurnment to be at the Fairview Cemetery at Scottsbluff.
