LINCOLN, Neb. – A full schedule of Family Fishing Events has been scheduled for 2013 by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. These events give families and novice anglers the opportunity to try fishing in a fun, educational environment.
All regulations regarding permits and limits apply, but participants will have access to loaner fishing equipment. Bait and instruction also will be available.
The following is a list of events, which begin at 6 p.m., unless otherwise noted:
- April 29 – Terry’s Pit, Scottsbluff, 5 p.m.
- May 11 – Outdoor Discovery Program, Fort Kearny State Recreation Area (SRA), Kearney, 9 a.m.
- May 29 – Lake Halleck, Papillion
- May 30 – Holmes Lake, Lincoln
- June 1 – Yanney Park Lake, Kearney, 10:30 a.m.
- June 4 – Skyview Lake, Norfolk
- June 5 – Pawnee Park East Pond, Columbus
- June 12 – Fremont Lakes SRA No. 3, Fremont
- June 13 – Benson Park Pond, Omaha; June 14-15 – Memphis SRA, Memphis
- June 18 – Walnut Creek Reservoir, Papillion
- June 19 – Bowling Lake, Lincoln
- June 22 – Carp-O-Rama, Pawnee SRA, Emerald, 8 a.m.
- June 25 – Birdwood Lake, North Platte
- June 26 – Cottonmill Lake, Kearney
- June 27 – Mormon Island SRA No. 1, Grand Island
- July 9 – Johnson Lake, Fremont
- July 10 – Holmes Lake, Lincoln
- July 11 – Lake Halleck, Papillion
