Evelyn Ruth (Sundberg) Roberts, 98, formerly of Chadron, Nebraska passed away on February 15, 2013 in Mesa, Arizona.  Memorial services will be held at a later date in Chadron.

Mrs. Roberts was born on September 14, 1914 in Galesburg, Illinois to Edwin and Anne Sundberg.  She had five brothers, Charles, Freddie, Jean, Kenneth, and Ralph.  She graduated from Chadron High School in 1933.  On December 25, 1937 she was married to Victor Roberts.  To this union, three children were born, Larry, Judy, and Benny.

Evelyn was a member of the First Baptist Church from 1928, until she moved from Chadron to Arizona in 1995.  She sang in the choir for over 60 years.  She was also a member of the Ising Glass Butte Extension Club, Chadron Hospital Auxiliary, Republican Women, and Christian Women’s Club.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vic; daughter, Judy and brothers, Charles, Freddie, Ralph, and Kenneth.

She is survived by her other two children and their families, seven grandchildren, Victor, Keyton, Kelly, and Casey Roberts, Kimberly Strauss and Kyleen Campbell, and Jill Keane; ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ  85014.
