DARRELL (DINGER) REEVE, 73, GERING

Homemade ClockDarrell (Dinger) Wayne Reeve, 73 of Gering, Nebraska passed on into the heaven’s Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Regional West Medical Center, Scottsbluff.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Mitchell Valley Cemetery, south of Mitchell.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 14, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Gering Memorial Chapel, 1755 11th Street, Gering.

Memorials may be given to the family.

Darrell was born on May 16, 1940 to Otto H. and Olive H. (Moorhouse) Reeve in Mitchell, Ne, where he grew up and attended Mitchell Public Schools. He worked at Overhead Door Company installing garage doors. Later he operated his own company with B & C Steel Building. He raised the roofs and put together many steel buildings around Scottsbluff and Alliance, NE, and in Wyoming until 1990.

He was in a severe car accident, which left him with lots of medical issues.

You probably would see him or talk to him in many café restaurants around Scottsbluff. He enjoyed having his coffee and talking to his many great friends,anytime, day or night. He always had to have his Scottsbluff newspaper in one hand.

He married Leonida Todd and in that union they had two great children, Danielle and Thomas. They later divorced. He moved to Arizona, Fort Collins, Colorado, returning to Gering, where he lived until his death.

Darrell loved to fish in Terry’s ponds, trying his best to catch the biggest fish that he could. He also built beautiful clocks from grandfather clocks to small chime clocks. Everybody just had to have one after seeing how beautiful they were.

Football was his game, always watching and talking about the Huskers and Broncos. He loved to watch or fall asleep to any sports game or western movie on TV. You would also see him working on his cars, or help others with theirs.

He is survived by his daughters: Tannya Reeve and her long time fiancé Brian Jensen, Melodie Reeve, Danielle (Reeve) Heckman and son Thomas Howard Reeve all of Alliance, NE; grandchildren: Kevin Fraedrich, Vanessa Fraedrich, Cory Wayne Fraedrich all of Alliance, Travis (Nicole) Reeve of Alliance, Robert John (Elizabeth) Lynn, III of Kearney, Nathan Lynn, Arik Heckman, Austin Reeve and Jacob Reeve all of Alliance; five great grandchildren and a sister Doris Zeiler of Scottsbluff.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Betty Thornton, Cheryl Fillingham, and Deanna Slagle, brother, Jack Reeve and a great grandchild, Austyn Sue.
