Out of 9 recipes delivered to our KCOW studios Monday morning, one reigned supreme in the eyes (and taste buds) of our judges.

Cheryl Johnson’s Feta-bulous Pork received rave reviews from our judges and managed to include all four key ingredients–bacon, syrup, tomatoes and (as the title indicates) feta cheese.

The dishes submitted in our initial challenge included everything from pasta salads to Greek quesadillas–and for dessert, popcorn balls!

Cheryl won a weekly prize of a gift certificate from The Steakhouse in Alliance, and now has a spot reserved in our final showdown for a $250 Grocery Kart shopping spree.  Other Cooking Wars sponsors include the Homestead Diner and Sam and Louie’s Pizzeria.

The four key ingredients for next week’s challenge will be announced this Friday between 9:00 and 10:00am on KCOW.
