JAGGER: “I GOT THE MOVES LIKE ME”

 

 

NEW YORK (AP) – He’s heard it. He’s even joked about it. But Mick Jagger says there’s pretty much no escaping the Maroon 5 hit that takes liberties with his name. The Rolling Stones lead singer says it seems everywhere he goes, he hears “Moves Like Jagger” – but he’s cool with it. He says a friend of his helped make the video – and he says it comes up a lot in conversation. In a recent appearance on David Letterman’s show, Jagger joked that even though the song mentions his name and his “moves,” he doesn’t get a dime off it.

PAPARAZZO KILLED AFTER TAKING PHOTOS OF BIEBER’S CAR

LOS ANGELES (AP) – The scramble to get pictures of anything or anyone related to Justin Bieber has taken a deadly turn. Police in Los Angeles say a paparazzo was hit by a car and killed after taking photos of Bieber’s white Ferrari. It happened on a Los Angeles street – and police say the photographer died at a hospital after being struck by a car. Bieber’s sports car was parked on the street after a traffic stop – but Bieber wasn’t in the car. The photographer got the shots – but paid with his life, being hit by a car as he crossed Sepulveda Boulevard after snapping the images. Police say no charges are likely to be filed against the motorist who hit the photographer.

TONIGHT ON TV: ROCK IN THE NEW YEAR

NEW YORK (AP) – There’s a lot of music on TV tonight if you’d rather stay in for New Year’s Eve. “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest” on ABC will include Carly Rae Jepsen, Neon Trees, Flo Rida (RY’-dah), Pitbull and Taylor Swift. “X Factor” winner Tate Stevens has been added to Fox’s New Year’s coverage, joining Lifehouse as the night’s entertainment. Train and “The Voice” winner Cassadee Pope will perform on NBC’s “New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly.” “MTV’s Club NYE 2013” features Kesha (KESH’-ah), Ne-Yo and Sean Kingston. Pat Benatar and her husband, Neil Giraldo, will ring in the new year on Fox News Channel.

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey (AP) – There’s love and no marriage – but soon Kanye West and Kim Kardashian will be pushing around the ol’ baby carriage. The rapper has announced that he and his girlfriend are expecting. He made the announcement during a show last night in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He crooned to the audience about Kim “now you’re having my baby” – and he said the audience should give her a shout out. The audience obliged. The couple went public with their relationship back in March – even though Kardashian is still technically married to NBA player Kris Humphries, though she did file papers to dissolve their union.

LADY GAGA PLANS DOCUMENTARY ABOUT LADY GAGA

 

 

UNDATED (AP) — Lady Gaga is developing a documentary about herself. She tweets that she and fashion photographer Terry Richardson will create a film about her life and the making of her upcoming album, “ARTPOP.

” Lady Gaga and Richardson collaborated on a 2011 photography book called “Lady Gaga x Terry Richardson.” No word on when the film or the “ARTPOP” album will come out.

BRUNO MARS: MAKING CHART HISTORY

 

 

NEW YORK (AP) — Bruno Mars has made a little bit of music history. His new hit “Locked Out of Heaven” has become the first track to be number one on the Hot 100, Radio, Digital and On-Demand Songs charts at the same time.

Billboard reports “Heaven” is spending a third week at number one on the singles chart and just added the rise to the radio songs list this week. It’s worth noting that Billboard only began tracking On-Demand Songs since March 24.

Last year, Rihanna’s “We Found Love,” Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger” and Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” were among the songs that topped all three charts in existence at the time.

RIHANNA: DONATION TO BARBADOS HOSPITAL

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (AP) — Rihanna says it’s her way of “giving back to Barbados.” The singer has given $1.75 million to a hospital in her Caribbean homeland.

The donation to buy three pieces of medical equipment was done in memory of her late grandmother. Rihanna was at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown this past weekend for the ceremony to announce the donation.

The hospital’s radiotherapy unit has been renamed the Clara Braithwaite Center for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine after Rihanna’s grandma, who died in June.

TONIGHT ON TV: “X-FACTOR” FINALE

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Britney Spears says Simon Cowell should get out his checkbook — and start writing a check to Carly Rose Sonenclar. The 13-year-old is one of the standouts of season-two of “The X Factor.” Her version of “Hallelujah” even forced Cowell to tell Carly she had a very good night. Carly goes into tonight’s finale with country guy Tate Stevens and the instant group Fifth Harmony. Stevens has been another favorite all season long. Fifth Harmony has been coming on strong in the last few weeks. Cowell gives them a slight edge, but notes he’s biased because he mentored them. Tonight, the winner of the $5 million recording contract will be announced.

“THE VOICE”-CASSADEE WINS

 

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Cassadee Pope is “The Voice.” She’s also got the looks. Cassadee wins season three of The Voice, beating Nicholas David and runner-up Terry McDermott. Her soaring vocals and spectacular ball gowns wowed the judges in the last weeks of the competition. Last night’s two-hour finale also featured performances by Rihanna, Bruno Mars, the Killers, Smokey Robinson and Peter Frampton. And Cassadee got to do a duet with her idol Avril Lavigne. As the winner, Cassadee gets a recording contract. But past Voice winners have been duds when it comes to music sales.

AUDITIONS FOR X FACTOR NOW OPEN

 

UNDATED (AP) – The second season isn’t even over yet and auditions are already starting for the third season of “The X Factor.” Solo artists and vocal groups can submit a two-minute a cappella video to TheXFactorUSA.com. You have to be at least 12 years old. There will also be in-person auditions in five cities, starting with Los Angeles in March.
