The Chadron Boys and Girls team had no trouble with Gordon-Rushville on Tuesday night at Gordon, as both Cardinal teams won by more than 35 points…the girls 80-44 and the boys 71-34.

The girls game was close through the first quarter, with Chadron up by just 4 at 16-12, but it was all Lady Cardinals after that. The margin moved to 37-23 at the half, then Chadron outscored Gordon-Rushville 43-21 after intermission.

Four Chadron players reached double figures, outscoring the entire Mustang team 61-44. Peyton Hinn led with 17 points,  Bailea Kerr 16, Ashlea Kerr 15, and Briley Hannaford 13. Sara Marlatt was the only Gordon-Rushville player in double figures with 10 points.

The boys game was never in doubt as Chadron jumped out to a 13 point lead by the end of the first quarter. The margin grew to 16 by the half at 34-18, then to 24 at the end of the third quarter and 37 at the end of the game.

Chadron’s Spencer Eliason led all scorers with 19 points, but 3 other Cardinals reached double digits including Von Sayaloune, whose 11 points included a trio of 3-pointers. Cy Rayhill also had 11, while Bo Westlake chipped in with 10.

The Chadron boys and girls have two games this weekend, hosting Sidney on Friday night and traveling to Rapid City for Saturday afternoon games at Douglas.
