“BZZZ-INGA!” NEW SPECIES OF BEE NAMED AFTER “BIG BANG’S” SHELDON

BURBANK, Calif. (AP) – A new species of bee has been named after Sheldon Cooper’s catchphrase “bazinga!” on “The Big Bang Theory.” Or perhaps he’d now like to say it “bzzz-inga.” The new species of orchid bee was discovered by a Brazilian biologist. One of the show’s executive producers says Sheldon would be honored because bees are his third-favorite flying creatures after Mothra and griffins.

HONEY BOO BOO: NIMBY!

Won’t you be my neighbor?

UNDATED (AP) – Which celebrity would you most like to borrow a cup of sugar from? Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert top this year’s Celebrity Neighbor Survey by Zillow.com. Reese Witherspoon and Taylor Swift are tied for second. Then comes Jon Stewart. Beyonce and Jay-Z are tied for fifth with Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel. Kristen Stewart and Justin Bieber are tied for last. Nearly half the people surveyed said they wouldn’t want to live next to any celebrity. That’s the highest percentage in the six years Zillow has conducted the survey. But if they had to choose, Honey Boo Boo is the star they’d least like to have as a neighbor. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are in second place, followed by Donald Trump. Lance Armstrong and Clint Eastwood are tied for fourth place. Taylor Swift is in fifth, followed by Kristen Stewart.

JAGGER: “I GOT THE MOVES LIKE ME”

NEW YORK (AP) – He’s heard it. He’s even joked about it. But Mick Jagger says there’s pretty much no escaping the Maroon 5 hit that takes liberties with his name. The Rolling Stones lead singer says it seems everywhere he goes, he hears “Moves Like Jagger” – but he’s cool with it. He says a friend of his helped make the video – and he says it comes up a lot in conversation. In a recent appearance on David Letterman’s show, Jagger joked that even though the song mentions his name and his “moves,” he doesn’t get a dime off it.

PAPARAZZO KILLED AFTER TAKING PHOTOS OF BIEBER’S CAR

LOS ANGELES (AP) – The scramble to get pictures of anything or anyone related to Justin Bieber has taken a deadly turn. Police in Los Angeles say a paparazzo was hit by a car and killed after taking photos of Bieber’s white Ferrari. It happened on a Los Angeles street – and police say the photographer died at a hospital after being struck by a car. Bieber’s sports car was parked on the street after a traffic stop – but Bieber wasn’t in the car. The photographer got the shots – but paid with his life, being hit by a car as he crossed Sepulveda Boulevard after snapping the images. Police say no charges are likely to be filed against the motorist who hit the photographer.
