‘ARGO’ THE ONE TO BEAT FOR ‘BEST PICTURE’ OSCAR

ARGO

LOS ANGELES (AP) – “Argo” has been picking up steam the past several weeks and is expected to ride the wave to a win for Best Picture at the Oscars this Sunday. If it does, Ben Affleck would win an Oscar for producing the film, making up for his snub for Best Director. Daniel Day-Lewis seems to be a lock for Best Actor. If he wins, he’ll be the first to win Best Actor three times. His director in “Lincoln” Steven Spielberg is also expected to win his third Oscar. Anne Hathaway’s a shoo-in for Best Supporting Actress and Jennifer Lawrence looks like she’ll be named Best Actress.

More from this Sunday’s Academy Awards:

BEVERLY HILLS (AP) – Kristen Stewart will be at the Oscars. She’ll be a presenter. Kerry Washington, Jennifer Garner and Jane Fonda have also been added to the list of presenters.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Best Picture nominee “Zero Dark Thirty” comes out on Blu-Ray and DVD March 19. The extras show how they recreated the place where Osama bin Laden was hiding. There’s also a walking tour of the recreated compound. Another feature focuses on the training the cast and crew needed to film the raid.
