The annual Dawes County 4-H Family and Consumer Sciences Contest was held Wednesday July 24th in Chadron. Fourteen youth were quizzed about their knowledge of a variety of topics concerning nutrition, childcare, food safety, sewing, financial management and more. Grand Champion winners were Jacey Garrett (Junior division), Katelyn Briggs (Intermediate) and Kylee Garrett (Senior). Reserve Champion awards went to Alyssa Snyder (Junior) and Jayden Garrett (senior).
Ribbons were awarded as follows:
Clover Kid Division- rainbow- Caroline Butler
Juniors- blue- Ryan Vahrenkamp; red-Dalli Anders
Intermediates- red-Eric Vahrenkamp, Dawn Dunbar
Seniors- blue-Pamela Fisher, Jess Jersild, Katie Lewin; red-Josie Stewart
