WBB: Connealy Likes Athleticism & Depth in Recruiting Class

The Chadron State College women’s basketball team has signed five student-athletes to National Letters of Intent, coach Tim Connealy announced Monday. Four of the student-athletes, Angela Vigil, Keren Boyce, Jasmine Hill and Erin Graham are transfers, while Keeley Pearce, of Adeliade, Australia has four years of eligibility.

“I am really excited to start working with the young ladies that we have signed,” said Connealy. “Our goal with this recruiting class was to add depth and athleticism to our roster and we have done that. If these kids come in with a team first attitude and strong work ethic, I have no doubt that each will be able to contribute in some form or fashion.”

Vigil, a native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, is a 5-foot-5 point guard from Western Nebraska Community College. She averaged seven points per game and just under three assists, while leading WNCC to back-to-back Region 9 Championships. Vigil scored over 1,000 points as a four-year starter at Doherty High School and was named a 5A All-Conference first team player.

Pearce is a 6-foot tall guard from West Adelaide, Australia. She averaged five points per game and three rebounds for the Anytime Fitness Bearcats. Pearce has competed for three National Championships in Australia (Under 16, Under 18, Under 20) and in 2014 she was named the Under 18 Bearcats Player of the Year.

Boyce, a 5-4 guard from Arad, Israel, is a transfer from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, where she was a practice team member.

Hill, a 5-10 forward from Indian River State College, transfers with her teammate Graham. Hill averaged more than seven points and seven rebounds per game. She shot 41 percent from the field and had more than 50 steals and blocks last season.

Graham averaged just under 11 points per game and five boards. She shot 43 percent from the field last season and had 55 steals.
