VIRGINIA DEBUSK, 87, ALLIANCE

Virginia R. DeBusk, 87, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Good Samaritan Health Care Center with her family by her side.  Virginia “Ginny”, as she was called by friends and family, was born January 31, 1925 in Alliance, Nebraska to E. “Roy” and Edna (Gish) Stilley.  She graduated from Alliance High School in 1943.  She married James H. “Hank” DeBusk on August 11, 1944 in Alliance where Hank was trained as a pilot at the Army Air Corps Base.

Virginia spent her time raising her five boys and welcoming family and friends to her home.  She worked tirelessly as a housewife and mother without complaint all her life.  She was always ready to welcome anyone into her home.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and maintained her deep faith throughout her life.  Her home was a home for all of her children, their wives, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren.  She supported all through good times and bad with her love and faith.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was an excellent bowler in several leagues in Alliance.

She is survived by her sons, Dennis (Sandy) DeBusk, Rick (Linda) DeBusk, and Jim (Merrily) DeBusk all of Alliance, and Jon (Deb) DeBusk of Las Vegas, Nevada; 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Terry, and her sister Doris Swanda.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 4, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with Steve Swedberg officiating.  Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Memorials may be given to the First Presbyterian Church.
