CHADRON – Seven home runs lift the University of Nebraska Kearney over Chadron State College in two games Tuesday. UNK run-ruled CSC 14-5 in game one and 12-1 in game two. CSC hosts a triangular with Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference leading Metro State University and Colorado Mesa University Saturday and Sunday. The Eagles will play at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. both days.

Chadron State (13-33) started things out well when Jessica Eatmon answered Kate Ruwe’s three-run home run with a three-run home run of her own to tie the game at three apiece. UNK hit back to back home runs in the third innings by Erin Dwyer and Ruwe to push the lead to 8-5. Errors plagued CSC, as the final eight runs scored for UNK were unearned.

In the second game, CSC’s Aspen Eubanks hit her second home run of the day to tie the game at a run each. UNK’s Dwyer hit two home runs and Makenzi Dallas had a grand slam in the fourth to finish off CSC, 12-1.

Eatmon and Eubanks led the Eagles with two home runs each. Eatmon was two for two hitting with four RBIs in game one. Eubanks, who took a pitch to the helmet in her first at bat, followed with a home run in each game.

For UNK, Ruwe stole the show in game one, slamming three home runs in four at bats for six RBIs. Dwyer combined for six hits, six runs, five RBIs and three home runs for the Lopers. Dallas was a perfect two for two in game two with a grand slam four RBIs and two runs.
