JASON ALDEAN SAYS HE ‘SCREWED UP’
(AP) – Jason Aldean admits he “acted inappropriately” with former “American Idol” contestant Brittany Kerr at a Los Angeles nightclub last week. The married father of two owned up to his flirtatious mistake and apologized for his indiscretion which was caught on camera. Aldean took to Twitter and Facebook to make a direct apology over the weekend. He wrote that he didn’t want fans to “just read about his personal life on gossip web sites.” He says he “screwed up” and “had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar.” He went on to say that he left the bar alone, caught the bus to his next show “and that’s the end of the story.” Aldean says he’s not perfect and he embarrassed his family and himself and appreciates being able to “work through this privately.”

“THE VOICE”
LOS ANGELES (AP) – He looks metal, but sounds country. The teams on “The Voice” are now complete. Blake Shelton’s last pick up was Rudy Parris, a 46-year-old with long, black hair. Shelton told Parris he has the soul of country artist. Team Blake also gets a teen singer whose mom drove her to Nashville 40 times in a year and a half to pursue her music dreams.

CMA AWARDS ADD MORE PERFORMERS
BURBANK, Calif. (AP) – Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan and the Zac Brown Band are joining the already star-studded list of CMA Awards performers which includes Jason Aldean, Little Big Town, Kelly Clarkson and Dierks Bentley. Each of the evening’s performers are nominees, with Lambert in the lead. She has four nods this year for Album, Song, Video and Female Vocalist of the Year – a title she has held since 2010. The Awards take place in Nashville, November 1 and will be co-hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood. They air live on ABC.

TAYLOR SWIFT SAYS JONI MITCHELL ROLE NOT A DONE DEAL
UNDATED (AP) – Variety magazine reports that Taylor Swift is “already in line to play Joni Mitchell” in a film called “Girls Like Us.” But in a recent interview with Country Weekly magazine, Swift says it’s not a done deal. Girls Like Us is an adaptation of a book by Sheila Weller, about the trailblazing trio of singer-songwriters Mitchell, Carly Simon and Carole King. Swift says in the Country Weekly interview that she’s “not actually signed on to do a movie at this point” and it’s not the kind of thing that’s good to talk about until it’s a definite thing. However, she points out she “would love to tell that story.”

KENNY ROGERS SKIPS PLASTIC SURGERY IN HIS MEMOIR
UNDATED (AP) – Kenny Rogers’ memoir, “Luck or Something Like It” hit bookstore shelves today. The autobiography covers lots of ground including Rogers’ Depression-era Texas childhood and his struggles with his marriages. One thing he didn’t tell-all about is his plastic surgery. In a “CMT Insider” interview Rogers says he did write a section about it but his manager said, “Let’s not go there.” Rogers says he’s not embarrassed that he had plastic surgery but admits he never liked the way his eyes looked “after the fact.”

BUCKY COVINGTON ON THE PERKS AND PITFALLS OF HIS CAREER
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Bucky Covington says there are pros and cons to being a famous musician who spends a lot of time on the road. On the plus side he’s toured the country and seen a lot of beautiful places. The “bad part” he says, is that he meets a lot of women and it’s easy to get into what he calls “very, very sticky situations.”
