Therese M. Weber, 88

Weber

Therese M. Weber, 88, died Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Marshall, Texas.

She was born in Alliance on June 11, 1927 to Joseph and Frances (Gilshannon) Coupens. Therese attended high school at St. Agnes Academy.

She met a handsome sailor, Harold Weber and they were married in Norfolk, VA on August 7, 1945. They were blessed with 5 children, Joe, Jack, Jim, Jeff and Cari.  The Weber’s lived on a farm east of Alliance where Therese stayed busy taking calls for Harold’s plumbing business and raising her children.  She was famous for being a hostess whether it was a full meal or cup of coffee, it was important for Therese to see guests and family were taken care of.  Therese’s hobbies included sewing, dancing, canning and she loved antiques.  She spent many years in the Eagles Auxiliary where she hosted antique shows and fund raisers for her community.

Her grandchildren remember their many sleepovers, fishing trips and travels to Gothenburg. Therese was noted for her strength with her many health issues later in life.  Her focus was better spent doing crafts and beading bracelets and necklaces and doing ceramics at her facility.  She was a proud Red Hat Society member.  Her spirit was always one for adventure.  She was excited in her final days to take a move to Marshall, TX with her daughter and close family nearby.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Jack, her sisters, Elizabeth, Irene Coupens, Evelyn Boots, Charlotte Smith and Mable Gambill,  her brothers, Pat, Jim and Tom Coupens and her daughter-in-law, Deb Weber.

She is survived by her children, Joe Weber, Jim (Peggy) Weber, Jeff (Vicki) Weber and Cari (Wayne) Krauter, her sister, Patricia Coble all of Alliance, 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
