CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Testimony resumes today in a 75-year-old Missouri woman’s first-degree murder trial in Cheyenne.
Last week, two children of Alice Uden, of Chadwick, Mo., testified she told them she killed 25-year-old Ronald Holtz while he was asleep almost 40 years ago in southeast Wyoming.
Holtz was Uden’s third husband. Uden’s attorney argues Holtz was abusive and she shot him in the midst of an attack to defend herself and her 2-year-old daughter.
Police arrested Holtz and her fourth and current husband, 71-year-old Gerald Uden, in Missouri last fall. Gerald Uden since then has pleaded guilty to the first-degree murders of his ex-wife and her two children in central Wyoming in 1980.
Prosecutors haven’t linked the two cases. Jurors in Alice Uden’s case haven’t heard testimony about Gerald Uden and his case.
