STRONG PANHANDLE GROUP AT NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL FINALS RODEO

high school rodeo logoThe 2014 National High School Finals Rodeo is underway in Rock Springs, Wyo, with afternoon and evening rounds through Sat. It’s the “World’s Largest Rodeo” with aobut 1,500 contestants from across the United States, Canada and Australia.

Seven Cowboys and Cowgirls from this area have 11 spots on the Nebraska team…with 4 competing in 2 events each.

Charmayne Strong of Rushville, who will ride for Chadron State College next year, is in pole bending and goat-tying, Seth Cumpton of Lewell in Boys Cutting and Saddle Broncs, Brandy Schaack of Hyannis Breakaway Roping and Barrel Racing, and Cody Darnell of Gordon in Tie Down and Team Roping

Also competing from this area are Cody Nye of Alliance in Tie-Down Roping, Danny Manning of Hemingford in Steer Wrestling, and Libby Winchell of Scottsbluff in Goat Tying. Winchell’s big sister Shelby finishd 2nd in Goat Tying last month at the CNFR in Casper.
