
Chadron State College track and field athletes did well Sunday during the first half of the decathlon and heptathlon at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships being hosted by Colorado Mines in Golden.
The Eagles’ Jazz Bozner of Rock Springs, Wyo., has a two-point lead over Cameron Morley of Colorado Mesa in the decathlon. Bozner has scored 3,281 points.
Two more CSC men rank among the top six. Hunter Dittbenner of Mitchell is fourth with 3,188 points and Kelly Troester of Marsland and Crawford is sixth with 3,146 points. Troester had the best times in both the 100- and 400-meter dashes on Sunday.
In the heptathlon, the Eagles’ Chelsey Murray of Michigan is in third place behind two New Mexico Highlands entries.
The multi-events will conclude this (Monday) morning. The remainder of the meet will begin about noon and continue through Tuesday afternoon.
