The Alliance City Council will host a special meeting tomorrow evening at 6:00pm at Laing Lake.  The City of Alliance has applied for a Clean Lake Grant through the Nebraska Environmental Trust and the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality which could total $300,000. In anticipation of receipt of the grants, work has been on-going in developing a plan which included: re-shaping the current lake, increasing mean depth, improving fill lines, enhancing access, water source acquisition, and shoreline improvements. This is also an opportunity to make a significant aesthetics improvements to the facility as well as improving water quality. Representatives of LakeTech and City staff will be in attendance to review the findings to date and to ensure that City Council is comfortable moving forward with the proposed improvements.
