The Alliance Spartans will continue a fabulous summer season of Legion baseball at the State Tournament as District Champions!
The Senior B7 champs won 13-0 over Gering on Tuesday night in Chadron to claim the title behind a two-hitter from Trevor Dubray on the mound.
Alliance (37-4) scored six times in the second inning, then added three more in the third to build a 9-0 lead early. Errors and walks hurt Gering early with three Spartan runs scoring on bases loaded free passes and a hit batsmen. Gering committed seven errors on the night.
Cade Pfeiffer was three for five with three RBIs, Nathan Lauder drove in a pair of runs and JJ Garza doubled twice among his three hits for the Spartans who outhit Gering 11-2.
The Class B State Tournament will be hosted by Wayne and starts on Saturday. Alliance is slotted against the Area 1 champion in the first game of the tournament at 9:00 MT. Brackets have not been officially released with match-ups just yet.
