Six teams are vying for the Area B7 American Legion Baseball senior district championship in Sidney.  Friday marks the opening of this year’s event at Legion Field with top-seed Ogallala playing in the first game of the day against six-seed Alliance at 1:00.  Gering is the #3 seed and will see #4 Hershland in the 4:00 game followed by #2 Chadron against the #5 seed Sidney at 7:00.

Chadron should be well-rested and have its pitching rotation set having played just one game since July 9, which was a 6-5 win Tuesday in Martin, South Dakota.  And the Nationals have several players who compete with both the Junior and Senior teams, giving them valuable experience to carry over from competing at the Junior State Tournament last week.

Here’s a look at the bracket and game times for tournament, which runs through Tuesday.  The championship game is scheduled for 5:00 July 28.
