Visitation for Rose M. Roberts, 85, of Norfolk will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2013 at Home for Funerals, Norfolk, with a 7 p.m. prayer service. The funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2013 at Chamberlain Chapel Funeral Home in Chadron Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Chadron. Rose died Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Faith Regional Health Services. Rose was born November 4, 1927 to Wynn and Inez (Swiebel) Baldwin at Ainsworth. She graduated from Ainsworth High School and attended Chadron State College for 2 years and received her teaching certificate. On October 16, 1947 Rose married Dale Roberts in Rapid City, SD. They lived near Chadron for 2 years and then moved to Johnstown and later to O’Neill where they farmed and raised their two sons. Rose and Dale moved to Rising City in 1987 and then to Norfolk in 1990, where she was residing at the time of her death.
Rose is survived by her 2 sons and their spouses, Wynn and Judy of Norfolk, Doug and Rose of Omaha, grandchildren Christina and Calvin Laible, Lincoln, Lisa and Troy Gubbels and Bryan Roberts, Norfolk, 6 great-grandchildren, Sisters-in-law Avis and Lee Fleharty, Hot Springs, SD, Martheena and Donald Hayden, Chadron, Pat Roberts, Kennewick, WA, brother-in-laws Boyd and Shirley Roberts and Billy Pierce.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dale on November 14, 2008 and a grandson John Roberts of Omaha.
