Chadron State College thrower Ashton Hallsted was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference women’s Field Athlete of the Week for her performance at the CU Invite in Boulder over the weekend.
Hallsted threw 17.86 meters (58′ 7.25″) in the weight throw, placing fourth in the event. The provisional mark was five centimeters short of a personal best, and is a top-20 throw in the nation. Hallsted’s season best throw ranks 16th nationally, placing her on the bubble for an NCAA Championships bid.
Her shot put mark in Boulder of 11.55 meters (37′ 10.75″) was furthest among the team’s entrants.
She will travel, along with a full team of CSC student-athletes, to Brookings, South Dakota this weekend for the South Dakota State Indoor Classic.
