Regional West Honors Employees Battling Or Who Have Survived Cancer

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – On Thursday, in honor of National Cancer Survivors Day, Regional West Cancer Services celebrated all its employees who have had to deal with the challenges of cancer survival.

“Health care workers spend so much time taking care of others and many of them do so while battling their own set of circumstances,” said Jeff Kriewald, director of Cancer Services. “That is why it was important to take a moment today and recognize those employees who are cancer survivors themselves and let them know that they are an inspiration to those they work alongside each and every day.”

Over 50 employees took a break from their busy schedules to enjoy a treat and watch the release of dozens of balloons, commemorating fellow employees who are currently battling or have survived cancer.

Lita Delcamp, certified provider credentialing specialist with the Medical Staff Office and herself a survivor, said the providers and support she receives at Regional West are exceptional.

“I appreciate the event that Regional West holds each year at this time. The support that myself and others receive here is tremendous.”

The event was hosted by Regional West Cancer Services. National Cancer Survivors Day® will be celebrated throughout the country on Sunday.
