PREMA ANNOUNCES SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

Eight area students from Alliance, Rushville, Ellsworth, Bingham, and Whitman will receive scholarship funds from Panhandle Rural Electric Membership Association, and its power suppliers. The PREMA, Tri-State, and Basin Scholarship winners were chosen at random from 20 applicants. All entrants are dependents of PREMA members or PREMA employees. The scholarships are offered annually to students in PREMA’s service territory.

Ryan Reiber, General Manager of PREMA announced that Josie Seidler, David (DJ) Weare, Jr., and Ashley Woodward from Alliance, Jeremy Davis of Bingham, Shae Brennan from Ellsworth, Shelby Anderson from Lakeside, Kathleen Orr from Rushville, and Triston Nielson from Whitman would receive scholarships from PREMA, Basin Electric Power Cooperative of North Dakota, and Tri-State Generation, and Transmission of Denver, Colorado.

Josie Seidler, daughter of Wynette and Craig Seidler of Alliance, will be a sophomore at Chadron State College. Her major is undeclared. She will receive $1,000 from Basin Electric Power Cooperative.

PREMA awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Ashley Woodward and $500 each to Jeremy Davis and Triston Nielson. Ashey will be a junior at the University of NE Medical Center, College of Nursing in Scottsbluff. She is the daughter of Pam and Shale Woodward of Alliance.

Jeremy Davis will be a freshman, he plans to attend the University of NE-Lincoln for Broadcasting. His parents are Lori and Scott Davis of Bingham. Triston Nielson, also an incoming freshman, will be attending Laramie Community College to earn a degree in welding. Triston’s parents are Amy Evans and Steve Neilson of Whitman.

The Tri-State Scholarships, $500 each, were awarded to Shae Brennan and Kathleen Orr. Shae Brennan (junior) is planning to return to Chadron State College to continue her study of Communication Arts. Her parents are Lori and Matt Brennan of Ellsworth. Kathleen Orr (freshman) is planning to study Nursing and will be attending Chadron State College in the fall. Her parents are Sandra and John Orr of Rushville.

Shelby Andersen was the winner of the $500 Chadron State College Foundation Scholarship. Shelby will be a junior at Chadron State studying Communication Arts. She is the daughter of Jean and Clint Andersen of Lakeside.
