Autumn on the Bricks is a great way to celebrate the “abundance of agriculture” we have in our community.
To begin our first annual festival we will be highlighting the potato. Since having fun isn’t just for kids, we’ve decided to honor the beloved Mr. Potato Head (1952) by having a Potato Head Decorating Contest.
Everyone who entered the contest was given a “potato head” (burlap bag) to decorate any way they wanted with whatever materials they could come up with. Entries have been named to depict a person or theme.
Entries are pouring in at Box Butte Central to meet the 5 pm October 9th deadline. All entries will be displayed for viewing in various Box Butte store-front windows. Judging will be done Thursday, October 10th at 3 p.m. The winners will be contacted by phone and will also be announced at the Friday, October 11thHomecoming football game and Saturday, October 12that 12:00 noon at the downtown stage.
1st Prize is $100.00 – 2nd Prize $50.00 – 3rd Prize $25.00.
Prizes sponsored by Western Potatoes.
First place entry will be donated to the Knight Museum and all other entries will be auctioned off Saturday evening. All proceeds will go to promote next year’s Autumn on the Bricks festival.
