POST PLAYHOUSE TONIGHT AT FT ROB AND ALLIANCE

Post Playhouse CabaretTonight is a first for the Fort Robinson Post Playhouse as it holds performances of 2 different shows in 2 different cities at the same time: Always, Patsy Cline at the theater just outside Crawford and Hollywood, A Cabaret, in Alliance at the Performing Arts Center.

Playhouse Artistic Director Tom Ossowski says they’ve done two shows in one night before, but just a short distance away in Crawford.

“We did it last year when we offered the cabaret as a dinner-theater at MJ’s Ranch House, but this is the first time we’ve done it with Alliance.

Hollywood was created specifically for this year’s Post Playhouse cast. Ossowski says it celebrates the Great American Movie Musicals.

“It is movie musicals or movies that were turned into musicals.  You know, all those great movies from the ’40s and 50s like Singing in the Rain, but with newer ones like Mama Mia and Hairspray mixed in there.  Big dancing show as well with a lot of dancing and tap dancing.

The Hollywood cast includes retired Alliance banker Wally Seiler…well-known across much of Nebraska for his portrayal of Mark Twain. Seiler is also appearing in this year’s production of Annie Get Your Gun.

Ossowski says ticket sales for the Alliance performance have been very good, but that there are still plenty of seats. Tickets should still be available at the door, but he recommends reserving seats by calling the Playhouse box office or going online at postplayhouse.com.
