The Open Sky Policy Institute…a non-partisan Nebraska organization dedicated to fiscal research and analysis…is sending its executive director on the road this week to share its latest research on the state’s economy and tax system with groups around the state.
Renee Fry will meet with the Chadron Area Chamber of Commerce and all other interested individuals Monday morning at 8:00 at the Country Kitchen restaurant and at 11:00 with the Alliance Rotary Club at Newberry’s.
Tuesday, Fry will be with the McCook Rotary Club and on Wednesday with the Kearney AM Rotary. She also has talks planned later in the month in Ogallala, North Platte, Fremont, and Columbus with plans in the work for still more cities this summer and fall.
The stated goal of the Open Sky Policy Institute is to put the state on a sustainable long-term growth path that will balance the needs of its citizens with the capacity of the revenue structure, and has been among the leaders in pushing for tax reform.
The latest update of its easy-to-follow primer on Nebraska’s budget and tax process has been updated and is available at its website http://www.openskypolicy.org.
