The unofficial U-S Postal Service motto may say that “neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night, stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds,” but sometimes the weather does win…and today is one of those times.
Heavy snow, high winds, and hazardous driving condition stopped the truck bringing the mail to the Alliance post office for distribution in Alliance and to post offices on north, so there’s no mail delivery today from any of those post offices.
The post offices themselves are open, but the Nebraska Department of Roads and law enforcement agencies all across the Panhandle are still recommending no travel…not even in towns.
