Observe night sky on August 10 at Scotts Bluff National Monument.
On Friday evening, Professor Tom Robinson of WNCC will give a night sky program at the top of the bluff. Tour the planets and stars with a chance to see them through telescopes. The program will begin at 9:00 pm with the summit road open to drive to the top at 8:30 pm. Bring a flashlight. To protect night vision, red covers will be available for those whose flashlights do not already have one. There will be no charge for entering Scotts Bluff National Monument for the night sky program.
Please note, this program was originally scheduled for the following evening but has been moved up to Friday.
The Visitor Center is open 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, while the Summit Road is open 8:00am – 5:30 pm. The Monument grounds are open sunrise to sunset.
