New Opportunity to Play Women’s Pro Hoops For Recent CSC Athlete

It’s a goal accomplished and new opportunity all at the same time for one of Chadron State’s recent women’s basketball players.  Leana Tajkov is headed to Spain to play professionally.

After playing three seasons at the University of Mobile she transferred to CSC and played in 26 games for the Eagles in 2013-14 averaging just over two points and two rebounds in 15 minutes of average playing time per game.

CSC Coach Tim Connealy tells us that playing professionally was always a goal for Tajkov, “ I was very happy when I heard Leana would have an opportunity to play professionally in Spain, it was something she always wanted to do.  She was only here for one year but integrated very well on campus and in the community.  She was a key player off the bench for us during that season.  She was a very quick forward who could attack the basket well from the elbow.  She also had good instincts while playing help-side defense.”

Tajkov is a native of Serbia and was an NAIA All-Academic selection at Mobile according to CSC.
