New Car Rental Program At Alliance Airport, Full Council Audio


The Alliance City Council met Tuesday night at 7pm and introduced a few new city of Alliance employees. Tisha Kennall will be a new public safety dispatcher, and Tyler Jines is taking on the position at refuse collection driver. Council also approved a request for a petition for the Bomgaars annexation from Next Generation Properties of Nebraska. This property is located at the southwest corner of the intersection of West 3rd Street, Country Club Road, and U.S. Highway 385.

There was a rezoning request for the owner of Dairy Queen, Chad Wilcox in Alliance. Wilcox requested the waiving of the statutorily required three readings of the ordinance in order to move forward with the purchase of the property. A conditional use permit was requested by Kenneth Holloway, as well as, a plat request for Brett Kelly and Chris Thompson.

The City received applications for a special designated liquor licenses for Players Sports Bar, Sandhillers Bar, and The Gathering Spot in Alliance for the 200 Block of Box Butte during the Eclipse weekend.

A resolution to authorize staff to purchase from LSC Environmental Products for an applicator of a clay-based liquid to provide the required nightly cover of the Alliance landfill was approved.

Council authorized the city to enter into a lease agreement with Boutique Air for the use of terminal space and parking space to provide a car rental program at the airport was approved. This lease is for one year.  You can hear the full audio of the meeting below.
