MCCOOL JUNCTION, Neb. (AP) — Officials say the 2012 Cattlemen’s Ball in McCool Junction raised more than $1.4 million for the Eppley Cancer Center in Omaha and other organizations.
The cancer center, which part of the University of Nebraska Medical Center, will get more than $1.24 million of the $1.41 million total.
Organizers say the 2012 ball was the third straight that raised more than $1 million. The record of $1.49 million was raised at the 2011 ball in West Point. The 2010 ball in Kearney raised just over $1 million.
Since the ball’s inception in 1998, more than $7.61 million has been raised.
The 2013 Cattlemen’s Ball is scheduled for June 7-8 at the Hanging H Ranch near Sutherland.
