The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has announced eligibility requirements for this year’s bighorn sheep hunting lottery.
Nebraska residents may apply for a lottery permit through Aug. 7 for the lone permit to be issued this year.
Residents who will be at least 12 years by the Dec. 1 opening day of the bighorn sheep season may apply. Residents may apply once per calendar year and may receive one permit per lifetime.
The nonrefundable application fee is $25. Nonresidents are not eligible.
Applications must be received in the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s Lincoln office by 5 p.m. on Aug. 7. An application form may be downloaded at http://outdoornebraska.gov/hunting/guides/biggame/bighorns/BGbighorns.asp .
Online applications must be submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 7.
The drawing will take place Aug. 28.
