UNDATED (AP) — Country singer Mindy McCready’s boyfriend and father of their 9-month-old son committed suicide. McCready’s rep, Kat Atwood, confirmed to People magazine that David Wilson died Sunday of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

He was 34 years old. Atwood says “they’re working on funeral arrangements and figuring out where to go from here.” McCready released a statement on Monday mourning Wilson and called him her “soulmate.”

Atwood says McCready, who’s faced many personal struggles, is “surrounded by people who love her and are there for her.”
