MICHIGAN MAN IS NEW ALLIANCE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR

A Michigan man is Alliance’s new Public Works Director.

Ronald Perry of Hope, MI began overseeing the Water/Sewer Department, Street Department and Refuse Collection on July 14.

City Manager J.D. Cox said, “I am extremely pleased to have Ron with his outstanding credentials, join our organization.”

Perry was the Director of Public Works for the City of Auburn, MI and Director of Public Facilities for the City of Oconto, WI.   He has been the owner and President of Great Lakes Municipal Services in Hope, MI since 2009 overseeing all aspects of a municipal services business.

Perry served as a Circuit Rider for the Michigan Rural Water Association from 2004-2010 where he worked with various municipalities throughout Michigan, assisting them with their water and sewer issues as well as training their employees.

Perry has experience in Water and Sewer; Parks and Recreation; Streets and Highways and Solid Waste Departments. He is also experienced in the maintenance of over 75 miles of water main and 80 miles of combined storm and sanitary sewers as well as a 1.8 MGD Wastewater Treatment Plant and a 2700 gallon/minute drinking water supply system with storage of 850,000 gallons.

Perry and his wife Melissa are excited to relocate to Alliance. “We are very appreciative of the warm welcome we have received from this community,” he said.

Perry succeeds Mike Hulquist, who retired earlier this year after spending nearly 40 years with the City.
