A Hemingford man who has battled heart issues for most of his life is experiencing more medical issues.
Michael Swanson, 35, received a heart transplant at the age of 10 in 1990, but recently was hospitalized in Denver due to heart failure.
Swanson’s travel expenses to Denver for his medical needs also are rising.
A benefit for Swanson and his wife, Summer, will be held Saturday, November 15, from 5 pm to 10 pm at Newberry’s in downtown Alliance.
A chili soup supper as well as silent auction and live auction of dozens of donated items will take place.
A suggested donation for the soup supper is $5.00 for adults and $3 for children.
Monetary donations can also be made at Great Western Bank at 423 West Third Street in Alliance.
Swanson, a 1999 graduate of Hemingford High School visited with KCOW’s Kevin Horn on November 3 from his hospital room in Denver about his situation.
