Chadron police arrested a man Friday night for failing to register as a sex offender. Chief Tim Lordino says 35 year-old Russell Ten Fingers was taken to the Dawes County Jail in Chadron, then released.
Lordino says his department had received information from the Nebraska State Patrol that Ten Fingers was not complying with Nebraska’s Sex Offender Registration Act.
Ten Fingers was convicted of 3rd Degree Sexual Conduct in Minnesota in 2001, and Chief Lordino says he did not properly register when he moved to Chadron.
Lordino says the Chadron police “make every effort” to ensure that all sex offenders required by the criminal courts to comply with the Sex Offender Registration Act do so, and move swiftly to deal with those who don’t because they “pose a significant risk” to the community.
