Lois A. Nuss, 76, died Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Good Samaritan Health Care Center.

She was born August 25, 1936 in Alliance, Nebraska to Frank and Pearl (Bacon) Hashman.

She married Merle Stone on December 25, 1955.  Two this union two sons were born, Steven and David.  They divorced in 1961.

Lois worked as a clerk at Safeway and the L.B. Murphy Clothing Store.  On July 28, 1968 she married Jake Nuss, Jr. in Alliance.  She made draperies for the Johnson and Peltz Co. and later she and Jake had a carpet cleaning business together.  In the early 1980’s Lois attended nursing school and became an L.P.N.  She worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Box Butte Medical Center before retiring in 2000.

She is survived by her sons, Steven (Suzanna) Stone of Glendale, AZ and David (Cindy) Stone of Hemingford; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; brothers, Gary (Sharon) Hashman and Wayne (Darlene) Hashman, all of Alliance; and her special friend, Paul Brixius of Alliance.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Jake.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. John’s United Lutheran Church.  Pastor Robert Mortvedt will officiate.  Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family present to greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
