Kenneth W. Petersen, age 65, of Scottsbluff, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at his home. His memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 7, 2013, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Pastor Ed Hunzeker officiating. Cremation was at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory in Scottsbluff.

Kenneth was born May 20, 1947, at Grand Rapids, Michigan to Jack (Pat) Petersen and Laurna (Doug) DeWitt. He married Marilyn M. Wyant, on December 16, 1977, in Sidney. They have made their wonderful home in Scottsbluff for 35 years. He enjoyed the open road as a truck driver and spent many years working as a Master Mechanic at several businesses around the area. He worked at US Welding and Medical Supply until an injury caused him to take an early retirement. At the time of his death, he was employed part time at Bowl Arena Bowling Alley, where he loved working with Special Olympics Bowling Team. He was a member of the Wagon Wheel Sams RV Club and a long time participant on the Monday Night Church Bowling League. His most enjoyment came from spending time with friends and family.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; daughters, Kim Bohnenkamp of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Angela (David) Edwards of Casper, Wyoming, and Angel (Rob) Bolton of Gering; sons, Kenneth (Cozy) Petersen Jr. and Michael (Angela) Petersen all of Rapid City, South Dakota; sisters, Carol Dillinger of Des Moines, Iowa, Patti (Tony) Manna of Omaha, Doris (Bob) Palermo of LaVista, and Jackie Benak of Papillion; and brother, Charles (Pat) Petersen of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Also surviving him are six granddaughters, six grandsons, and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather; brother, Peter; and granddaughter, Katie Bohnenkamp.
