Keith Francis Nixon was born Dec. 7th, 1929 in Chadron to Ethel and Lewis Nixon and joined an older sister Betty upon arriving home.
He attended various country schools within Dawes County during his youth and graduated from Chadron High School in 1947.
Keith enjoyed several different occupations throughout his lifetime including mechanics, ranching, oil drilling, trucking and horse breaking to mention a few.
He married and had 5 children: Dennis, Roland, Kenny, Dana and Alan and adopted one child Amos Bearshield.
Keith married his best friend Barb in 1975. Together they shared a passion for auctions and flea markets to stock their antique store they owned and operated in Crawford, NE.
Barb and Keith traveled all over the country to fuel this hobby. This in turn provided entertaining tales for friends and family of the “hunts and deals” they encountered along the way. A stop at Kountry Loft Antiques ensured good conversation and friends. Keith always enjoyed sharing his knowledge of cars, tractors, and western tack and loved the company of his grandchildren whenever possible.
He is survived by his wife Barb; his six children Dennis (Angel), Roland (Cindy), Kenny, Dana (Brad), Alan (Brenda) and Amos; along with his 3 stepchildren Ron (Rhonda), Julie (Frank), and Ed (Steph). He was a loving grandfather to 24 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
