courageous battle with Alzheimer’s at her home at Highland Park Care Center.

born DeeAnn, Vic, and Kathy. While the girls were growing up they moved several
times throughout the state of Nebraska, before making their lifelong home in
Alliance, NE. Joanie was known to many in the community as, Mrs. Duryea. She spent
her entire professional career, nearly 35 years, teaching 2nd grade. Her family often
would tease her about never getting out of the 2nd grade. After retirement, Joanie
spent time casino hopping with Bobby, summertimes with her family at their place
at Angostura, and dragging Bobby from place to place to find a good sale. In those
years, she also volunteered at the Collection Basket and Kiddie Kampus.
