LOS ANGELES (AP) — Here are the dates you have to post in your smartphone calendar if you plan on following “American Idol.” The new season starts with the usual ear-splitting auditions on January 16 and 17.

Two more rounds of auditions will air the following week. The Hollywood rounds start February 6 and go until February 28. Idol airs three nights a week during the semifinal rounds, which start March 5. The top 10 will revealed on March 7. The following week, the finalists will perform live and the winner will be announced March 14.
