Alliance will host the Humanities Nebraska “Hometown Teams” exhibit in 2014.

The Humanities partners with the Smithsonian Institution to bring the exhibit to Alliance, as well as Nebraska City, Wahoo, Omaha, St. Paul, Tilden, and Lexington.

The “Hometown Teams” exhibit will explore the origins of popular community sports in America and their evolution to today, the rise and signifance of company-owned teams and leagues, and the role of sports in the civil right struggles by minorities and women.

Humanities Nebraksa is a private, statewide, non-profit affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
